Who we are
SV Autos is a mobile mechanic business run by James Snow, a sole trader trading as SV Autos, of 17 Eastfen Common, Soham, CB7 5JH. You can contact us at [email protected] or on 07703 287022.
Our service
We are a mobile mechanic, which means we come to your home or work to service and repair your car. We carry out a wide range of jobs, including servicing, diagnostics, brakes, batteries, air conditioning, and more. Some larger jobs, such as clutches and cambelts, we assess first and may refer to a trusted garage partner where that is the better option for you. We cannot carry out the MOT test itself, as that has to be done at an approved test centre.
Quotes and prices
- A call-out fee of £20 applies to cover coming to you, with the cost of any work on top.
- Any quote we give is an estimate made in good faith based on the information you give us and what we can see. If the job turns out to be different once we inspect the car, we will explain this and agree a price with you before carrying out any extra work.
- Parts prices vary by the make and model of your car.
- Any VAT, where it applies, will be shown on your invoice.
Booking and access
When you book, please make sure the car is somewhere we can safely and legally work on it, such as a driveway or private parking space, and that we can get to it. Please let us know anything relevant about the car and the fault in advance so we bring the right parts and tools.
Payment
Unless we agree otherwise, payment is due once the work is complete. We accept cash, bank transfer and card, and we send invoices through QuickBooks. Ownership of any parts we fit stays with us until you have paid in full.
Cancelling or rearranging
If you need to move or cancel your appointment, please tell us as soon as you can so we can offer the slot to someone else.
Where you booked with us at a distance or away from our business premises, you normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start the work within that 14 day period, you may be asked to pay for any work already done if you then cancel, and once the work is fully complete with your agreement the right to cancel no longer applies.
Our guarantee and parts
We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. Any guarantee we give on our labour will be confirmed with you when we quote or invoice for the job. Parts we fit are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty.
Your responsibilities
Please give us accurate information about your car and the problem. We are not responsible for faults that already existed, for wear and tear, or for issues that are not connected to the work we carried out. If we spot something else that needs attention, we will let you know.
Our responsibility to you
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our responsibility to you is limited to the cost of the work we carried out.
If something goes wrong
If you are not happy with any part of our work, please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to put it right. Getting in touch with us does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in place when you book.
