Are you a 24 hour mobile mechanic?
No. We work Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and we'd rather tell you that than have you waiting on a call that isn't coming. If your car has died at midnight you want a recovery service. What we can do is pick it up first thing: message us out of hours and we'll see it when we open, and we'll get to you that day where we can.
Do you work weekends?
Saturdays, yes, 8am to 6pm, the same as any other day. Not Sundays. Saturday is the slot most people want, so it goes first: if that's the day you need, it's worth asking earlier in the week rather than on Friday afternoon.
My car has broken down. Is that something you do?
It depends where it is. We're a mobile mechanic, not a recovery service, so if you're stopped on a live carriageway or a motorway you need your breakdown cover first, and that is genuinely the right call rather than us being unhelpful. Once the car is somewhere safe, at home, at work, or in a car park, we can come to it and find out what's actually wrong. Most of what we get called to in that situation turns out to be the battery or the charging system, and both can be tested and sorted where the car sits.
What counts as urgent, and what can wait
Stop driving and call us for grinding brakes, a flashing engine light, a temperature gauge in the red, or a burning smell. Those get worse quickly and some of them get expensive fast. A steady engine light, a squeal from the brakes, a slow-starting car or a service that is overdue are all worth booking soon, but they are not a today job and we'll say so rather than charging you for the urgency.
