Mobile DPF Cleaning & Forced Regeneration at Your Door
DPF light on, or your diesel stuck in limp mode? We run a forced regeneration and in-situ clean on your driveway across Soham, Ely, Newmarket and Cambridgeshire, and we tell you honestly when a filter is too far gone to save.
The diesel particulate filter, or DPF, sits in your exhaust and traps the soot a diesel engine produces. It clears itself by burning that soot off at high temperature, which is called regeneration. Trouble starts when the filter cannot regenerate properly, usually on cars that do a lot of short, cold, stop-start trips. Soot builds up, the DPF light comes on, and left long enough the car drops into limp mode to protect itself. A DPF clean and a forced regeneration clear that trapped soot and get the filter working again, without the cost of a new one.
We look after diesel cars only for this work. Based in Soham, we come to you across Ely, Newmarket, Cambridge and the villages in between. We plug in, read the exact fault, and if the filter is still healthy enough we run the clean at your home or work. If it is genuinely blocked solid, we will say so rather than take your money on a job that will not hold.
A proper diagnosis first
We read the soot and ash levels, the pressure difference across the filter and any stored faults, so we know whether a clean will actually work before we start.
On-vehicle forced regeneration
We command the car to run a regeneration cycle at your door, burning off trapped soot the way the car normally would on a long run.
In-situ chemical cleaning
Where it helps, we use a professional in-situ cleaner that flushes the filter without taking it off the car, then confirm the result on the diagnostics.
Honest clean vs replace advice
If the numbers say the filter is past saving, we tell you straight, and point you at the sensible next step instead of charging for a clean that will not last.
Is a DPF clean worth it?
In most cases where the filter is only sooted up and not physically damaged, yes. A clean or forced regen costs a fraction of a replacement DPF, which can run into four figures on some cars. Here is what you are weighing up:
Far cheaper than a new DPF
A replacement filter is one of the more expensive diesel jobs there is. Clearing a partially blocked one first is the sensible order to do things in.
Fixes the cause of limp mode
A blocked DPF is a common reason a diesel loses power and throws a warning. Clearing it usually gets the car driving normally again.
Protects the parts around it
A struggling DPF puts extra strain on the turbo, EGR and sensors. Sorting it early keeps a small problem from spreading.
But not always the answer
If the filter is cracked, melted or full of ash rather than soot, no clean will fix it. We check for that first so you do not pay twice.

Signs of a clogged DPF
A blocking DPF tends to show itself in a few ways. Spot any of these and it is worth getting it checked before it forces the car into limp mode. We will plug in and tell you exactly where the filter stands.
The DPF or exhaust warning light is on
The car has noticed the filter is not clearing itself. Caught at this stage it is often still cleanable, so it is worth acting rather than waiting.
The car has dropped into limp mode
Power is capped and the revs are held low to protect the engine. A blocked DPF is one of the usual causes, and it needs looking at before you drive far.
Noticeably worse fuel economy
A filter that keeps trying and failing to regenerate burns extra fuel doing it, so the miles per gallon quietly drops off.
A strong diesel or burning smell
Often a sign of failed or incomplete regenerations. The soot is not being cleared cleanly, and it is worth checking why.
Rough running or a loss of power
Back pressure from a clogged filter can make the engine feel flat and hesitant, especially when you ask for acceleration.
The engine's stop-start has stopped working
Many diesels disable stop-start when a regeneration is needed or the DPF is unhappy. It is a quiet early warning worth noticing.

- A forced regeneration on its own, or an in-situ chemical clean needed on top
- How blocked the filter is when we get to it, a light clean is quicker than a stubborn one
- Make and model, access to the DPF and the cleaner needed vary by car
- Any related faults (a failing sensor, a sticking EGR) that also need sorting to stop it blocking again
